(A) SABS Certification Overview
South African National Bureau of Standards (South African Bureau of Standards, SABS) is promulgated under the 1945 "State Standards Act," established, is a subsidiary body of South African Trade and Industry. South Africa SABS is a neutral third-party certification body responsible for South Africa's system certification and product certification. In addition to standard-setting duties, SABS also on behalf of peremptory norms of national management standards, compliant products, to grant the right to use the logo, also responsible for in line with ISO9001, ISO9002 certificate issued by the enterprise, and represent the country and some major buyers responsible for pre-shipment inspection and testing, issue a certificate of competency. SABS certification is widely used in chemical, biological products, fiber products and clothing, machinery products, safety equipment, electrical products, civil engineering and construction and automotive products and other fields. In recent years, SABS certification has become the South African government the importance of weight control products imported.
(B) SABS product certification range
SABS certification product certification and system certification is divided into two categories, while the SABS Product Certification includes the following eight categories: chemical, biological products, fiber products and clothing, machinery products, safety equipment, electrical products, civil engineering and construction and automotive products. Which relates to building materials and products: stone products, concrete products, roofing materials, cement, lime, cement mixture, natural building stone, safety glass, steel, wood and wood products, brick, tile, paint, coatings, sealants, etc.
(C) SABS logo prerequisite to obtain
1 products in line with a SABS / SANS national standards;
2 products by the corresponding standard test;
3. To meet the ISO 9000 quality system requirements or other specified requirements;
4. Only the product and quality system requirements are met before they apply for the use SABS mark;
5 routine product testing to be carried out under the guidance and submit test results and open;

(D) SABS certified general process
1 manufacturers fill out the application form completely;
2 If the factory has more than one plant, they are required to fill separate application form. Within the scope of certification requirements for each product are reflected in the application form. In addition, the plant also need to fill out the credibility of the person in charge of the application form, the person in charge to ensure that the first review of the certification fees and other costs;
3 South African Bureau of Standards, after receiving the application form will be issued a review of the quotations;
4. The offer was accepted under the premise of the South African Bureau of Standards will conduct a review of the plant;
5 If the above are reviewed by the South African Bureau of Standards will be prepared each year supervision contracts;
6 every year there will be a random review of two auditors, the annual supervisory review and testing fee will be stated in the contract;
7 random samples of two auditors will be brought back to the laboratory;
8 after the test sample, the South African Bureau of Standards will be the buyer of goods from South Africa in the extraction, if the batch of goods is less than 4 times per year, then the sample is not sent on request from the factory, the cost will be plants bear;
9. If the test result is unsatisfactory, then the cost of the sample and retest costs are borne by the factory;
10 certificate will be valid for three years, unless there are other reasons to cancel the certificate.
